If desired, of course the homeowners or knowledgeable guides will be on hand to tell the history of these magnificent buildings, and of the people that built and lived in them over the centuries.

The best chefs with the finest local ingredients are at hand to cater to requirements, from afternoon tea to a formal fine-dining extravaganza. Transport options can all be included, as can butler, housekeeping and concierge services.

Activities could include: a simulated game shoot, archery, croquet, nature safari, coastal exploration, horse riding, fishing, sailing, foraging, or a trip to the races plus visit to stud farm.
