Hales Hall – Our Base
Our base is the magical medieval, Hales Hall, a stunning Tudor estate built in 1478 by Sir James Hobart, Attorney General to Henry Vll. All masterclasses will take place in the fully equipped 40-foot kitchen.
Magnificent gardens featuring acres of topiary hedges and floral avenues that lead to the kitchen gardens, spilling over with fresh fruit and vegetables ensuring food and local produce is at the heart of the Estate.
For those Guests on our Culinary Stays, Hales Hall is Grand and spacious in appearance but also homely, with intimate spaces to congregate, cosy fireplaces and wood-burners, as well as more formal areas to enjoy. There are three reception rooms including a drawing room with a 65” TV, a library and a music room with a baby grand piano. All areas of the house are available for you to use throughout your visit.
All of the boutique bedrooms, named after historical figures that have an association with Hales, are individually styled with antique furniture and a natural colour palette to complement the historic brickwork and beams. The rooms have Vispring mattresses, Egyptian-cotton bed linen and bathrooms featuring showers with rainfall heads, marble vanity units and cast iron freestanding baths.
